Cure #1 (Prague Powder Number One) - Instacure #1 

This is Cure #1, also known as Prague Powder Number One or Instacure #1, A mixture of kosher sea salt (93.75%) and Sodium Nitrite (6.25%).

This Cure should only be used to make cured meats that will be cooked after curing, i.e. bacon, ham, cured fresh sausage etc.

Often referred to as PINK salt, our Prague powders only contain NATURAL colourings and NO anti-caking agents.

This cure MUST be weighed accurately (Scales measuring 0.1g recommended) and used according to any recipe that specifies Cure #1 or Prague Powder Number One, usually 2.5g per KG of meat.

Sodium Nitrite is TOXIC if too much is used however it is a safe and effective curing agent if used correctly and MUST be mixed with additional salt.

CURING SALT Used your smoked bacon and ham dry cure mix. Super product made great bacon out of a piece of belly pork. Really fantastic result and this my first time at making my own bacon. Many thanks great product - John Owen

GREAT PRODUCT, GREAT SERVICE I recently started making my own bacon and after some searching came up with Surfy's as a source of the Prague Salt I needed. Paul (the owner) is incredibly helpful, and gave me a lot of good advice before my first try. The bacon turned out perfect - and just like the stuff you used to get years ago, not that supermarket rubbish which leaches white foam when you cook it. I MAKE GREAT BACON Started just before Christmas with a rival sweetcure. It was great, but I cannot stop there. Bought some of your #1 and I am working towards perferction. Just taken my tenth pork loin out of my smoker (modified barrel bbq). I have never been so popular. Great product. Great hobby. - Paul Baldwin
